Lars has spent his career helping European technology companies compete on the global stage.
Before becoming an investor, he worked in telecoms and management consulting before becoming an entrepreneur, founding, scaling and exiting two companies. In 2012, he co-founded Scale Capital and later spent four years in Silicon Valley, building Scale’s US presence and working alongside European founders as they entered one of the world’s most competitive technology markets.
That experience shaped a conviction that sits at the heart of Scale today: Europe has the technology, engineering talent and founders to build global leaders, but too often the ownership and value created by those companies move elsewhere as they scale.
Lars understands both sides of that challenge. He knows what it takes to compete globally, but also believes Europe’s next generation of technology companies should be able to do so while keeping their technology, talent and ownership anchored here.
He holds an MBA from Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, graduating Magna Cum Laude, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Foreign Trade from Copenhagen Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Market Economics.
Today, Lars leads Scale Capital with a simple ambition: to back the founders building the critical technologies Europe and the world will depend on, and give them the conviction, capital and international perspective to build global leaders from Europe.
